Product Description
100% waterproof, lightweight and robust – the Typhoon is the ideal companion for day hikes, short cycle rides or everyday use.
The roll-top closure offers reliable protection against the wet. The liner, with fully heat-sealed seams, can be turned inside out, making it easy to clean. A front pocket, mesh side pockets and a pole attachment provide flexible storage and organisation options.
Comfort is ensured by the padded mesh back panel, the ergonomically shaped shoulder straps and the detachable hip belt. The robust main material, made from ripstop nylon, is waterproof and offers high resistance to abrasion and tearing.
Since 2021, EXPED has been supporting certified myclimate climate protection projects through a financial contribution. Together with the nonprofit organization, we have calculated the carbon footprint of all our products and our operations at our Zurich location. Our annual contribution is based on this calculation - but it does not change the carbon footprint itself.

5 years years on defects in materials and workmanship
The EXPED backpack line includes both waterproof and weatherproof models. Waterproof means these backpacks keep water out unless submerged in water. Weatherproof means that the fabric and seams are completely waterproof, but zippers and hydration ports are water resistant and not 100% waterproof.
All other backpacks in the EXPED line have coated fabrics to prevent water penetration. These backpacks do not have taped seams. Typically, other features such as durability or weight reduction are the focus of these products and are designed to be used with our waterproof drybags to keep the contents dry.
